‘Resting Place’
First Site Gallery, Melbourne, 2018
A group exhibition by Hedwig Crombie, Griselda Crombie and Lucy Tolan

The objects in Resting Place are derived from a shared time, place and memory. Using ceramics and gold and silversmithing, the artists have created a series of site referential works. These objects will capture the artist’s individual encounters, demonstrating how their experiences differ.

The value of an object is subjective (determined by those who encounter it). They can have a direct relationship to memories, as mementos and souvenirs. We use them to recall details and feelings of a specific time and place. Resting Place brings their interest in memory and place together in a collaborative installation.
